The Fix It Green Home Fair is designed to educate low- and moderate-income residents on the benefits of simple home repairs aimed at reducing energy and water consumption.
What makes this project unique is its focus on populations who are not traditionally the target of “green” events and who are typically not environmentally motivated because of either a lack of information or financial limitations.
Through interactive displays and demonstrations of basic energy- and water-conservation techniques and devices for the home, participants will receive the necessary instruction to carry out simple updates and retrofits that will also save them money by lowering their utility bills.
As an added incentive, certain products necessary to complete the fixes will be made available at greatly discounted prices.
